13 Nov

Ahh, get me out of here!

When you realize you have too many scarves and you just don’t know exactly know how to wear them. It become overbearing that you have too many scarves but you have only one way of wearing them.

Well, today is your lucky day! With winter coming up, scarves are much needed to cover up for the harsh cold. It’s just how to rock it can get a little rocky. I found a wonderful tutorial on that shows how to rock one scarf seven different unique ways. Check it out!

A scarf can add a little extra to a boring outfit or it can dress down a dressy outfit. Either way, it’s a great accessory for any outfit with a great purpose.

BAG LADY

Over-loaded purse can add weights to your commute

If you are a commuter like myself, I’m always on the go. Which means I always have to bring a back bag with necessary essentials just for my day to go through smoothly. Here are my top ingredients:

  • Headphones: Music makes my day. Whether it’s your phone as a source of music or simply a computer. All you have to do is plug the headphones in and your day will go by faster with the sound of the beats. I use Marshall Headphone.
  • Snack: I hate that feeling when your stomach is growling for food. Then you have to wait (which seems like hours) to get to your destination. Grab a fruit or granola bar.
  • Lip Balm: Moisturizing your lips is a beauty must. Prevents chapped lips and cold sores. I use natural Burt’s Bees lip balm.
  • Umbrella: Like my momma says, “You should always be prepared”. There are little umbrellas convenient for any purse size. I use Top Shop umbrella.

What is in your bag when you commute? Share your essentials in the comments below.

To Turban or Not To Turban

30 Oct

Where a city that never sleeps and is always in style, I’ve been noticing that a different hair accessory is trending right now.

The turban is an instant chick look to give your outfit a little extra. Not only have I seen this new accessory on the street but I’ve been seeing it in fashion blogs, celebrities and some of the runways fall and spring fashion shows.

The middle east is making a comeback since the fashion era of the 1920’s and 1930’s. So where can you find the them? Start looking in your closet, using a scarf that you already own.

It makes a great head wrap for the winter.

I came across this wonderful tutorial video that will help you wrap a fashionable turban on your head with different styles and looks along with a poppy tunes from the lovely Samii Ryan.

Don’t be afraid to use bold, prints or textures as a turban head wrap. Don’t have a scarf? Shop at places where it’s already made at H&M or Urban Outfitters. Which turban would you try on? I’m digging the lace stockings…
